The Little Mole and His Friends
Exhibition with animated films and playhouse
Zdeněk Miler, animated film director and artist was born in Kladno in 1921. His film career began during the war in the Zlín film studio, then from 1945 he continued his work in Prague in the studio of Jiří Trnka. He became famous both at home and abroad for the Little Mole series that still enjoys great popularity. More than fifty episodes have been produced. An interesting feature of the series is that there is no spoken dialogue, Little Mole and his friends communicate with various sounds and noises that the director created from a recording made of his daughters Kateřina and Barbora. Original images by Zdeněk Miler, cartoons and various Little Mole products can be seen in the exhibition.

Let's go to Rio!
Performance by Csaba Méhes and the Brass in the Five wind quintet (première)
An exhilarating circus performance under the direction of a meddling ringmaster who, as a daring instrument tamer, tames five brass instruments and then entertains the public with the most amazing tricks: he transforms the trumpets into horses, makes the trombone fly in the air, and he even dares to put his head into the “mouth” of the fearsome tuba. The famous Hungarian mime artist, Csaba Méhes and Hungary’s best brass quintet, Brass in the Five have created what is perhaps today the most original musical theatre production for children, combining the noblest circus tradition with exceptional musical quality. It is not by chance that the Brass Circus won the professional prize at the 2008 Budapest Fringe Festival and the special prize of the Children’s Jury. Although the performance is intended for the youngest age group, experience shows that the parents and grandparents enjoy it at least as much as the children – perhaps even more.

Etude
Musical programme for 5–10-year-olds
Presenter: Katalin Kim musicologist
The unusual creative programme deals with some of the works exhibited and also with the music of Haydn. The aim of the programme is to give participants an opportunity for creative, free improvisative music-making and playing with notes and, closely linked to this, for unchoreographed movement and dance. We are seeking connections between the visual, the works of art, the music and movement, observing parallels and points of connection between the different branches of the arts.

Parafónia Orchestra
“Music is spiritual food and cannot be substituted by anything else. Whoever does not partake from it will live and die in a state of spiritual anaemia. There are regions of the soul which can be illuminated only through music.” (Zoltán Kodály)
Leader of the orchestra: Réka Fabényi
The members of the Parafónia ensemble of the “Music for Everybody” Association are mentally handicapped young people between the age of 18 and 35 who have learnt to make music together with the help of a special, coloured music notation method.
Their repertoire includes well-known classics, Hungarian and other folk songs, dances and early music pieces. Their special instruments can be used to perform melodies of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Vivaldi, as well as lighter numbers from musicals and folk songs.
The ensemble has 12 members under the direction of music teacher Réka Fabényi who is assisted by young remedial and music teachers and musicians.

Let’s Set Out to See the World!
A game for children aged 7–11 years, who like to tell and hear stories and to play a part in stories.
Presenter: Csaba Hernádi actor
In the exhibition space we will be spinning the thread of a tale together with young children, always starting from a work of art. We continuously illustrate the text heard or narrated, with the help of costumes we become participants in the story and we make scenery for some of the scenes. The aim is to use the improvised text to create another work of art while gradually and imperceptibly becoming participants in our tale.
